About The Position

The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for providing direct supervision and mentorship to graduate students during their clinical education experiences while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, ethical, and evidence-based speech-language pathology services. This position plays a vital role in preparing future speech-language pathologists by fostering clinical competence, professional judgment, and adherence to program, university, and professional standards.

Requirements

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
Active Florida license in Speech-Language Pathology.
Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) awarded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
Completion of ASHA's required two-hour professional development course in clinical supervision.
Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience following completion of the Clinical Fellowship (CF).
Previous experience supervising graduate student clinicians, Clinical Fellows, or providing comparable clinical mentoring.
Demonstrated instructional, supervisory, and mentoring skills with a commitment to high-quality clinical education and student success.
Proficiency in clinical documentation and evidence-based practice.
Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with pediatric and adult populations across a variety of clinical settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide on-site clinical supervision to graduate student clinicians during evaluation and treatment sessions conducted in the university clinic or other designated clinical settings.
Provide off-site clinical supervision for graduate students completing clinical placements at contracted community sites, including schools, outpatient clinics, and skilled nursing facilities (SNFs).
Directly supervise diagnostic evaluations for pediatric and adult clients.
Mentor students in the development of clinical reasoning, assessment, intervention, documentation, and professional communication skills.
Observe student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback to promote clinical competency.
Evaluate student clinical performance in accordance with program policies and professional standards.
Review and approve clinical documentation, including evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and reports.
Ensure compliance with university policies, ASHA standards, state licensure requirements, and applicable legal and ethical guidelines.
Collaborate with program faculty, the Director of Clinical Education, and affiliated clinical sites to support student success.
Participate in meetings, training sessions, and other program activities as assigned.
