About The Position

The Clinical Supervisor RN - Adult Behavioral Health role is a full-time night position within the Behavioral Health - Adult Female Unit at Prime Healthcare St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital. This role involves directing daily unit operations, supporting department operations, and providing frontline leadership. The Clinical Supervisor works collaboratively with the unit Director and/or Manager and may assume administrative responsibilities in their absence. The position focuses on developing and implementing departmental plans, overseeing orientation and training, communicating with staff and administration, and ensuring the quality of staff and functions during their shift. The role also involves assisting the Department Director in daily operations, personnel management, and ensuring efficient department functions. Direct patient care may be performed as needed.

Requirements

Current and valid state Registered Nurse license.
Current Basic Life Support certificate (BLS) upon hire and maintain current.
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) upon hire and maintain current.
Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certificate preferred for Intensive Care.
Non-OB Facilities – NRP Required 90 days after hire and maintained.
Professional Certification within 2 years of hire, preferred.

Responsibilities

Directed daily unit operations (Charge Nurse): Assign staff to patients, triage admissions, balance workloads, and lead interdisciplinary rounds.
Supported department operations (Clinical Supervisor): Schedule Management, coordinate onboarding, perform chart audits, and assist with hiring needs.
Provided frontline leadership: Manage escalations, fill staffing gaps, and ensured continuity of care and operations.
Supports administrative responsibility for the department service functions.
Works collaboratively with the unit Director and/or Manager.
May assume the administrative scope of the unit assigned in the absence of the unit Director and/or Manager.
Develops and implements departmental plans, including performance improvement activities and compliance with current federal and/or state regulations.
Prepares, conducts and/or oversees department(s) orientation and training of personnel.
Communicates with staff, physicians, and administration both written and verbally.
Is responsibility and accountable for the quality of staff and functions during their shift.
Assists the Department Director in the daily operations of the unit, directing, supervising, and evaluating personnel, ensuring the proper use of time, equipment and staff.
Ensure the efficient functions of the department.
Performs direct patient care, only as needed, within the scope of practice.
Continually assess care and direct staff to make immediate changes in the plan of care.
