About The Position

Frontier Behavioral Health's Mobile Crisis Assessment and Treatment (MCAT) team serves individuals aged 22 and older who require crisis intervention, stabilization services, or have a medical necessity for inpatient psychiatric hospitalization. Priority is given to referrals from DCRs, PSHMC Psychiatric Triage, First Responders, and Hospital Emergency Departments. The MCAT team assists individuals who frequently interact with law enforcement, emergency departments, and the legal system, and may have co-occurring disorders or be experiencing homelessness. The team also provides crisis response services for individuals identified by the Health Care Authority as Trueblood class members. The supervisor of Mobile Rapid Response Crisis Teams (MRRCT) provides direct supervision of assigned staff, participates in program planning and evaluation, and trains staff to ensure compliance with program goals. The supervisor offers consultation and education to other FBH staff and the community, and supports mobile crisis response operations for youth, adults, and families in behavioral health crises. Mobile crisis response services include rapid response, assessment, intervention, supportive counseling, resource linkage, and connection to community-based mental health and SUD treatment services. Services are primarily delivered in the community, with potential for engagement and ancillary services at inpatient facilities.

Requirements

Master's degree in the behavioral sciences
Two years' post master's degree experience in crisis intervention and the direct provision of mental health treatment services.
At the time of hire, must meet the requirements of a Mental Health Professional as defined by WAC 246-341-0200 by having applied for one of the following DOH credentials: Licensed Agency Affiliated Counselor (LAAC) OR License Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA) OR Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker Associate (LICSWA) OR Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA).
Credential must be active with DOH within 6 months of hire date unless currently meeting preferred licensure credential requirement.
Must have an unrestricted and valid driver’s license.
Must be able to pass a motor vehicle screening and driving test.
Must have active car insurance.
Must be willing to use their personal vehicle in the course of work.

Nice To Haves

Active DOH licensure (e.g., LMHC, LICSW, LMFT) in the State of Washington (Licensed employees have the title Supervisor II)
Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure the provision of community-based services by MCAT members, including the creation or development of recovery plans and ongoing support.
Provide individual services in various settings.
Offer crisis and hospital diversion services to high-risk individuals and families.
Conduct initial and follow-up phone and face-to-face assessments for high-risk clients to ensure stabilization and service acquisition.
Complete suicide and homicide risk assessments and determine if health and safety needs are compromised to ascertain the necessary level of response.
Develop viable safety plans to support individuals in crisis.
Provide referral services to individuals in crisis and to third-party referral sources for community stabilization services, including linkage to a Designated Crisis Responder (DCR).
Assist non-Medicaid individuals in accessing Medicaid.
Facilitate the use of and access to crisis hospital diversion resources, including Stabilization and/or E&T admission.
Maintain and provide required data as specified in the SCRBH-ASO Crisis Response Services Provider Guide.
Obtain necessary training for team members to enhance their skills in client engagement and promote less restrictive alternatives to inpatient psychiatric admissions.
Provide weekly supervision to each assigned mobile crisis response member.
Cover shifts as needed.
Participate in quality improvement projects to support the team's success in diverting inpatient admissions.
Represent the agency in a positive and professional manner, maintaining and enhancing customer service.
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with FBH staff.
Maintain working relationships with courts, attorneys, private psychiatrists, police and sheriff's deputies, jail staff, clinical and administrative personnel at inpatient psychiatric facilities, staff of other agencies, advocate and consumer groups, and citizens.
Comply with all state WAC requirements and FBH policies and procedures.
Perform FBH charting requirements, correspondence, Workday, and other paperwork completely and in a timely manner.
Participate in peer review, supervision, educational, and administrative meetings as directed.
Travel to see clients in the community and between work sites using FBH owned vehicles and/or personal vehicles.
Perform other duties as assigned.
