About The Position

The Registered Nurse Clinical Supervisor in partnership with the Clinic Administrator, ensures implementation and success of organizational goals; organizes and coordinates the clinical environment, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of healthcare services. Supervises 20 or more clinical FTEs and may include RN, LPNs, medical assistants and other unlicensed personnel. Registered Nurse Clinical Supervisor serves as a clinical leader of the healthcare team. In addition to the supervisory responsibilities, the Registered Nurse Clinical Supervisor will provide patient care support in accordance with nursing scope of practice.This position requires providing services to all age populations in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individuals served.

Requirements

  • Education: 4 Year/Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years nursing experience required. Minimum of 2 year supervisory or lead experience required.
  • Licensure: RN licensure in applicable state preferred.
  • Additional Skills/Requirements Required: BLS required. Ability to successfully complete general and department role based specific skills validation and competency testing. Excellent human relation skills, possess effective oral and written communication skills, possess leadership and problem-solving skills, operate personal computer. Ability to successfully complete Leader Education and training.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for practicing safely within the defined standards of practice.
  • Records and relays patient information, symptoms, and concerns to the patient’s medical provider or registered nurse for further triage assessment and to determine a plan of care
  • Assist patients with therapeutic regimensImplements established plans of care and age-appropriate interventions.
  • Reinforces patient/family teaching plan based on identified health education needs and the condition and age of the patient through approved educational materials or written instructions
  • Administer tasks, treatments, and medications in accordance with validated competencies
  • Willing to share responsibilities, support their teammates, and work together to achieve common goals.
  • Organizes and prioritizes daily work assignments to support patient needs, the interdisciplinary team, and operational efficiency.
  • Demonstrates teamwork in the delivery of patient care. Recognizes the importance of time sensitive issues.
  • Practices within the boundaries of the regulations governing the practice of nursing in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Engages in continuous learning and professional development activities to stay current with advancements and best practices in ambulatory care.
  • Possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas
  • Contributes to the development of practice guiding resources (policies, procedures, guidelines, protocol orders, etc.)
