About The Position

This is a temporary position for a Clinical Supervisor for Teacher Education. The role involves supervising teacher education candidates in their field settings, mentoring adult learners, and working with district staff. The position requires a strong understanding of teaching and learning strategies, current teaching performance expectations, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher degree in a relevant field.
  • Relevant content-specific knowledge and pedagogy (i.e., have knowledge of an array of teaching and learning strategies associated with the subject matter content).
  • Knowledge of and willingness to know current Teaching Performance Expectations and basics of the Teaching Performance Assessment.
  • Relevant Professional experiences in elementary, secondary, and/or special education educational settings.
  • A minimum of 3 years in elementary, secondary, and/or special education classrooms.
  • California Multiple Subject credential, Single Subject, and/or Education Specialist, Mild/Moderate Disabilities or Moderate/Severe Disabilities, PPS or admin credential (as appropriate).
  • Ability to work effectively with candidates and district staff (cooperating teachers; identified administrators) in their field settings.
  • Ability to teach/mentor/supervise adult learners.
  • Demonstrated commitment to and teaching in diverse settings, as well as working with students from culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior higher education teaching experience.
  • Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
  • Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.
