About The Position

Established in 1899, Child & Family Service (CFS) is a community-based organization with a mission of strengthening families and fostering the healthy development of children. CFS has been a fierce advocate for children and families in the midst of social injustices and inequalities. Our statewide support, counseling, and therapeutic programs help individuals and families heal from trauma, prevent abuse and neglect, and can break the cycle of generational poverty. We are seeking a dedicated FFT (Functional Family Therapy) Supervisor / Family Therapist to provide intensive, short-term (3–6 month) therapy services for youth ages 11–18 experiencing behavioral challenges, including conduct issues, aggression, and substance use, along with co-occurring emotional concerns such as anxiety and depression. Services are delivered in home and/or office settings, with a strong emphasis on improving family dynamics, communication, and long-term stability. The FFT Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day management of designated clinical program services and plays a key role in the design and development of program procedures and service delivery models. This position also requires close collaboration with at least one committed parent or caregiver who will actively participate throughout treatment and support sustained behavioral change within the home. The ideal candidate is experienced in working with adolescents and families, demonstrates strong leadership and program oversight skills, and is passionate about driving meaningful, lasting outcomes for youth and their families.

Requirements

  • Masters' Degree from a school accredited by a recognized accrediting agency.
  • Masters degree in health or human service field
  • Three (3) years' experience in providing child and adolescent mental health services
  • Two (2) years supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of child/adolescent and family dynamics
  • Knowledge of the current service delivery system and its expectations on worker performance
  • Communication and supervisory skills that are practical and carried out with a nurturing approach
  • Ability to work with people of multi-cultural and different levels of educational and socioeconomic status
  • Valid Hawaii driver's license
  • Clear driver's abstract
  • Willingness to travel in personal vehicle on an as-needed basis throughout the island
  • Verification of licensure/certification will be required at time of appointment/hire, and continued employment is contingent on maintaining licensure/certification.
  • This position is subject to a criminal background investigation, and continued employment is contingent on a record clear of convictions.
  • Continued employment in this position is contingent on successful completion of CPI classes OR other Behavioral Management certification as may be contract mandated.
