About The Position

The Clinical Student Extern Program at Health Sciences North (HSN) is an exciting opportunity for actively enrolled nursing, paramedic, undergraduate medicine, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and respiratory therapy students. This program allows students to enhance their skills in a hands-on setting while working as an unregulated health care provider. Opportunities vary amongst departments and statuses across the organization, with potential future openings for various durations until March 2027. The rate of pay is $20.60/hour. This posting is intended to identify potential candidates for future opportunities, not for an existing vacancy.

Requirements

Actively enrolled nursing student (BScN or BN Program: 2nd to 4th year; PN Program: 2nd year).
Actively enrolled paramedic student (Approved paramedic program: 2nd year).
Actively enrolled undergraduate medicine student (MD Program: final year or recent Canadian medical graduates awaiting the start of residency).
Actively enrolled respiratory therapy student (Diploma in Respiratory Therapy: 2nd to 3rd year).
Actively enrolled physiotherapy student (Approved physiotherapy program: any year and is accredited by PEAC).
Actively enrolled occupational therapy student (Approved occupational therapy program; any year and is accredited by CAOT).
