About The Position
The Clinical Sterile Pharmacist provides pharmacist-level clinical oversight of sterile compounding operations at Believe Rx. The role includes in-room support, real-time verification, staff training, and continuous process improvement to ensure compliance with USP <797>/<800> and consistent product quality and patient safety. The position is based on-site in Tomball, Texas, at a 503A pharmacy preparing Category 3 compounded sterile preparations (CSPs).
Requirements
- Active Texas Pharmacist license in good standing.
- ACPE Sterile Compounding Certification (minimum 20 hours, pharmacist-level).
- Demonstrated experience providing pharmacist oversight of sterile and/or hazardous drug compounding.
- Strong working knowledge of USP <797>/<800> and Texas Board of Pharmacy sterile compounding rules.
- Experience training and evaluating pharmacy technician competency.
Responsibilities
- Provide pharmacist-level oversight of sterile compounding activities on the production floor.
- Ensure aseptic technique, garbing, and environmental controls are followed consistently.
- Be present and available in or near the cleanroom to support technicians during compounding operations.
- Address questions, deviations, and process issues as they arise.
- Deliver and evaluate sterile compounding training, including media fills and gloved fingertip/thumb testing.
- Identify and support remediation needs for technicians and Lead Compounders.
- Perform real-time verification of components, calculations, and compounding steps according to policy.
- Verify batch records and release documentation before escalation for final release.
- Identify opportunities to improve aseptic workflow, safety, and quality outcomes.
- Partner with Clinical Operations and Quality & Inventory teams on corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with USP <797>/<800> requirements across compounding operations.
- Support documentation and evidence needed for inspections and audits.
