About The Position

The Clinical Staff Pharmacist (RPh) serves as an important part of the healthcare team at Beaufort Memorial Hospital (BMH). The RPh ensures the safe and effective use of medication by providing medication order verification while assessing for optimal drug product selection, dosage regimen design, effective administration and drug therapy monitoring services. The RPh monitors inpatient and outpatient drug therapies when appropriate and works with the appropriate medical staff to find alternatives when needed. The RPh facilitates the medication reconciliation process and works closely within a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best care is provided. The RPh accepts responsibility, authority, and accountability for management and provision of care in accordance with the current BMH policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Graduated from a pharmacy program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).
  • Must possess South Carolina pharmacist license in good standing at time of hire.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required prior to first clinical shift (must be issued by the American Heart Association).

Nice To Haves

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD.) preferred.
  • Inpatient hospital pharmacy experience (proficiency in dispensing and clinical rounding) preferred.
  • Post-graduate residency training (PGY1 and/or PGY2) preferred.
  • Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) certification preferred.
  • Certification from KPIC Aseptic Technique Training Program preferred.
  • Certification from KPIC Training Program for Handling Hazardous Drugs in the Pharmacy Setting preferred.
  • Previous employment history should provide an indication that the individual is motivated to perform assigned job responsibilities in an above average manner.
