About The Position

This is a contract/travel position for a Clinical/Staff Pharmacist with a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree. The role is based in a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital in Douglas, Wyoming, serving approximately 5,500 annual Emergency Department visits with an average daily census of ~10. The facility is a Trauma Level III facility. The pharmacist will be responsible for dispensing medications, reviewing physician orders, providing medication therapy management, counseling patients, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing inventory, maintaining records, collaborating with healthcare professionals, providing education, and supervising technicians and interns.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution
  • Active and unrestricted Wyoming Pharmacist license required
  • Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy experience required
  • Strong communication, patient counseling, and leadership skills
  • Proficiency with pharmacy systems and healthcare technology
  • Knowledge of pharmacology, therapeutics, and pharmaceutical calculations
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Commitment to continuing education and professional development
  • Flu vaccination required or approved medical/religious exemption
  • COVID-19 vaccination required or approved medical/religious exemption

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a pharmacy residency program preferred
  • Board certification in a pharmacy specialty preferred
  • Prior clinical or hospital pharmacy experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Accurately dispense prescription medications to patients
  • Review and interpret physician medication orders
  • Provide medication therapy management and monitor patient outcomes
  • Counsel patients regarding medication use, side effects, and adherence
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations
  • Manage pharmaceutical inventory and medication ordering
  • Maintain accurate patient records and pharmacy documentation
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals to optimize patient care
  • Provide medication education and clinical support to healthcare staff
  • Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and pharmacy interns
