CLINICAL STAFF PHARMACIST I - PRN / Support

About The Position

Under the supervision of Pharmacy Leadership and according to standard procedures, this role involves compounding and dispensing medications and providing pharmaceutical care upon receiving provider orders. The pharmacist will perform all duties necessary to ensure the effective daily operation of all departmental services and programs. Responsibilities include medication dosing and monitoring by provider referral, active participation in codes, and supervising interns and technicians. The role also involves training pharmacy students and technicians, and participating in clinical research protocols and drug therapy research activities.

Requirements

  • B.S.Pharm from an accredited college of pharmacy is required.
  • Current licensure as a registered pharmacist by the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy, or eligibility to become licensed within 60 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Possess good interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to read and write printed material in English.
  • Ability to effectively perform patient interviews and medication counseling.
  • Ability to work well with other health care workers and perform as a team.
  • Proficient with aseptic technique when utilizing both horizontal and vertical flow hoods.
  • Must be customer-service oriented.
  • Proficiency with computer keyboard operations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and/or do minor maintenance on all pharmacy equipment, printers, computers and telecommunication equipment with adequate training in the pharmacy.
  • Must be familiar with pharmacy software.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited college of pharmacy.
  • Greater than or equal to a six month hospital pharmacy internship or hospital experience as a pharmacist.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Flexibility in scheduling essential as mentor/trainer of new coworkers.
