About The Position

Under the supervision of Pharmacy Leadership and according to standard procedures, this part-time Clinical Staff Pharmacist I compounds and dispenses medications and provides pharmaceutical care upon receiving provider orders. The role is responsible for the effective daily operation of all departmental services and programs, including medication dosing and monitoring by provider referral. The pharmacist will be an active participant in codes, supervise interns and technicians, and participate in training pharmacy students and technicians. Additionally, the role involves participation in clinical research protocols and drug therapy research activities.

Requirements

• B.S.Pharm from an accredited college of pharmacy is required.
• Current licensure as a registered pharmacist by the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy, or eligibility to become licensed within 60 days of employment start date.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• Possess good interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and problem solving skills.
• Ability to read and write printed material in English.
• Ability to effectively perform patient interviews and medication counseling.
• Ability to work well with other health care workers and perform as a team.
• Proficient with aseptic technique when utilizing both horizontal and vertical flow hoods.
• Must be customer-service oriented.
• Proficiency with computer keyboard operations.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and/or do minor maintenance on all pharmacy equipment, printers, computers and telecommunication equipment with adequate training in the pharmacy.
• Must be familiar with pharmacy software.

Nice To Haves

• PharmD from an accredited college of pharmacy.
• Greater than or equal to a six month hospital pharmacy internship or hospital experience as a pharmacist.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Flexibility in scheduling essential as mentor/trainer of new coworkers.
