About The Position

Aware Health is a health tech startup focused on revolutionizing musculoskeletal (MSK) care. They empower Doctors of Physical Therapy (PTs) to lead the care process, providing immediate diagnosis and evidence-based treatment through a cutting-edge telehealth platform. This role allows PTs to practice at the top of their license, acting as the primary MSK expert, leading clinical decisions, and guiding patients away from unnecessary high-cost procedures. The company is seeking resourceful, high-performing PTs who want to escape traditional clinic settings and shape the future of conservative MSK care.

Requirements

  • Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT)
  • Actively licensed to practice in D.C.
  • Based in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area
  • Willing to work from the Washington, D.C. HQ 2-3 days/week
  • Willing to travel monthly for onsite clinical care and events
  • Having already obtained board certification in Orthopedic Physical Therapy or strong preference for sitting for the OCS.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse caseload primarily through a telehealth platform.
  • Act as the primary MSK expert, leading clinical decisions and steering patients away from unnecessary high-cost procedures.
  • Drive account-level engagement growth for assigned customer accounts.
  • Contribute to the reduction of MSK trends across assigned accounts by identifying cost drivers and implementing scalable interventions.
  • Proactively identify potential patients through outreach, scheduling, and evaluation to reduce downstream costs.
  • Maintain a high visit completion rate and plan-of-care adherence.
  • Evaluate and treat a diverse and complex caseload across all MSK domains (spine, extremities, pelvic health, TMJ, etc.) via telehealth.
  • Conduct differential diagnosis and triage, ruling out non-MSK causes and determining the need for referral or imaging.
  • Guide patients through comprehensive health and wellness programs.
  • Explain diagnoses, prognoses, and treatment plans clearly and adjust them as needed.
  • Work with the Customer Success team to lead initiatives focused on maximizing customer engagement and informing marketing tactics.
  • Maintain strict organization to track patient progress, outcomes, and drive internal metrics.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with team members and patients.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, including occasional schedule adjustments for on-site events or team needs.
