About The Position

The Clinical Specialist Dietitian – Renal will be highly competent in assessing and treating a wide range of clinical presentations relevant to a renal patient cohort. They will develop, implement, and monitor a plan of care based on the patients’ nutritional needs. This role is responsible for the organization, provision, and evaluation of nutrition and dietetic services to renal service users/patients attending UHW. The dietitian will develop an evidence-based nutritional care pathway for renal patients, covering inpatient and day services, and organizing appropriate follow-up through integration with community services or other acute centers. They will attend ward rounds/safety huddles, prioritize and manage patient caseloads, and manage clinical risk. The role requires maintaining professional standards as set by CORU and acting as a positive and supportive specialist team leader in renal dietetics. This includes leading change management, improving service delivery, and taking lead on designated projects. The dietitian will provide expert opinion and advice to colleagues and other health professionals, and be involved in quality improvement initiatives, audit, and clinical research. They will liaise with catering staff, stay informed about national policies, and serve on relevant committees. Ensuring the privacy and dignity of service users is paramount. Duties are to be undertaken in collaboration with the dietitian manager and align with organizational strategic goals. The role also involves promoting equality, diversity, and respect in the workplace.

Requirements
