About The Position
The Clinical Social Worker, MSW implements and maintains special research studies related to the provision of social services, counseling, leadership, and policy development while working with adult and pediatric patients. The role functions within the hospital and satellite clinics.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Social Work is required.
- Generally requires 3 to 5 years of related experience.
- BLS certification is required only for staff who provide bedside care or perform physical clinical interventions with patients.
Nice To Haves
- InterQual certification is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Works collaboratively with interdisciplinary staff to design and implement appropriate treatment plans, including discharge plans.
- Provides professional counseling and therapeutic intervention to patients and/or families using age-specific treatment modalities.
- Collaborates with community agencies that provide services for patients and their families.
- Leads or co-leads patient groups as needed.
- Submits statistical reports as required.
- Participates in orientation and training of social work and interdisciplinary staff.
- Participates in research projects as required for program planning and evaluation.
- Maintains current knowledge of social work practice, including age-related biopsychosocial issues.
- Participates in committees as assigned.
- Supervises students.
- Provides coverage as assigned.
- Participates in hospital, departmental, and unit meetings.
- Performs other related duties as required.
