About The Position

This position is a first line management position with 12-hour responsibility for the coordination of care for patients and families. In conjunction with the area’s Operations Manager or Director, the incumbent will plan, organize, direct, and evaluate people and activities for the department to ensure the delivery of high quality, cost-effective patient care. The incumbent also has fiscal responsibility for resources defined during the budget process and is accountable for scheduling, coordinating, and maintaining necessary resources on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. The primary focus is on employees, patients, families, physicians, and key contributors from other departments. Success depends on the ability to collaborate effectively with others and other managers within the Division of Nursing and the Medical Center. The employee is expected to support and implement organizational expectations including customer service, patient rights, confidentiality, a safe environment of care, and AHMC initiatives.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Nursing.
  • Minimum of two years direct patient care experience in designated area. (Consideration will be made for staff with strong education and associated experiential background in lieu of this experience).
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Management style that is open, team-oriented, collaborative, and based on trust and personal integrity.
  • Highly developed sense of initiative and flexibility, along with good judgment and analytical skills.
  • Current BLS–HCP.
  • ACLS/PALS/NRP/advanced fetal monitoring/NIH certification as per specialty area.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s preferred.
  • National certification in specialty area preferred.
