About The Position

We are seeking a Clinical Services Nurse responsible for performing a variety of duties depending on whether it is a small clinic, large medical practice, multi-clinic, or a specialty office. They may be involved in both the clinical and administrative areas including assisting physicians with patient care and handling clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks.

Requirements

  • Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN program.
  • At least three years registered nursing experience.
  • Must be able to lift minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to push/pull minimum 100 lbs. with aid of a wheelchair.
  • Must be able to carry minimum 20 lbs.
  • Must have a current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina.
  • BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Heart Center Communications and Staff Assistants to assure clinics full of appropriate patients; obtain new patient records, organize, tab them for MD review; ensure return patients have necessary tests/labs; surgical clearance -send to necessary MD; schedule and reschedule makeup clinics.
  • Conduct pre-visit with patients if time allows and report out to provider; collaborate/coordinate with clinic staff to recheck vital signs as needed; educate patients regarding labs, procedures, medications, diseases; tee up orders for tests/procedures-caths/TEE/CV/Stress echo as needed; coordinate hospital admissions, que all refills in clinic-AEMR and review with Providers.
  • Follow up to assure labs/procedures are completed, discuss abnormal results with provider, call patients with explanation of abnormal results, annotate normal results and forward to patients via MyChart or mail only if no MyChart account. Coordinate labs/studies with outside facilities, obtain appointments with specialists and coordinate w/pt., review all grid sheets after clinic-to ensure items were completed.
  • Manage incoming patient calls, coordinate plans with providers, and return patient calls. Manage prescription refills as directed by provider. Complete prior authorizations, patient/insurance requested forms, and coordinate referrals.
  • Perform other clinical functions as delegated and supervised by the physician.
