Under the general direction of the Manager Health Services (or designate), the incumbent is responsible for:

Supervising the daily clinical service delivery and environmental/operational issues in a designated service area whereby the nature and scope of the work performed, the size of the staff population supervised, and the activities occurring and the variety of issues/problems arising are of a complex and variable nature requiring a higher level of decision making, problem solving and judgment with considerable latitude to exercise same.
Providing guidance to Audiologists in a specific service area through clinical leadership, mentoring, supervision, education, evaluation, and research.
Contributing to the delivery of quality Audiology services by examining, developing, refining and evaluating the body of knowledge and clinical practices and assisting in program planning and development.
Assisting with performance conversations and recruitment, as well as coordinating clinical work schedules, caseloads and service rotations.
Maintaining a partial clinical caseload including Audiology assessment, diagnosis, intervention, program planning, discharge planning and follow up within the established standards of care.

Requirements

• Minimum of five years recent, relevant Audiology experience in a large complex environment required.
• Previous supervisory experience required.
• Master’s degree in Audiology from an accredited, recognized University is required.
• Completion of and ongoing participation in relevant courses, workshops, etc. to address continuing education requirements; supervision in Audiology and specialization required for designated clinical area.
• Must be registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech- Language Pathologists of Manitoba (CASLPM).
• Membership in other professional organizations is also required; for example, Speech- Language and Audiology Canada (SAC) and the Canadian Audiology Association (CAA).
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer policy.
• Demonstrated leadership, coaching and mentoring abilities.
• Ability to initiate and support change.
• General knowledge of the regulations and scope of practice documents that guide the practice of Audiology and relevant support workers such as Audiology Assistants.
• Ability to critically evaluate and apply relevant knowledge to practice.

• Excellent interpersonal, team building and role-modelling skills.
• Must be able to work cooperatively with other disciplines and demonstrate professional judgment and initiative.

• Working knowledge of research/program evaluation methodology.
• Ability to function within a computerized environment.
• Must be able to attend meetings on-site, off-site, or virtually.
• This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
