About The Position
The clinic scribe will work closely with providers in our ophthalmology clinic accompanying physicians/optometrists during patient visits and documenting the assessment and exam. Appropriate documentation of patient history, physical exams, assessments, diagnostic results, and follow-up instructions is essential. Navigate the electronic medical record. Review of patient charts to facilitate medical decisions by the physician.
Requirements
- General knowledge and understanding of anatomy, the diagnosis process, and pharmacology.
- Basic computer knowledge and navigation of an EMR system.
- Current BLS and Mandatory Reporters Certification.
Responsibilities
- Accompanying physicians/optometrists during patient visits and documenting the assessment and exam.
- Documenting patient history, physical exams, assessments, diagnostic results, and follow-up instructions.
- Navigating the electronic medical record.
- Reviewing patient charts to facilitate medical decisions by the physician.
