About The Position

The Department of Neurology has an opening for a motivated full-time Clinical Research Professional (Telehealth Scheduler) to coordinate visits for the Movement Disorders TeleNeurology UPL Program. This position is responsible for overseeing and supporting the clinical aspects of the TeleNeurology UPL Program. This position will collaborate with colleagues at all levels of the organization. We are seeking an individual who is collaborative, communicative, caring, detail oriented and organized, proactive, able to think critically, focused on quality, dedicated to personal growth, and highly motivated in all areas of clinic coordination. The position is located at the Anschutz Medical Campus. Hours are usually 8:00 to 5:00 weekdays, but occasionally longer hours are required, depending on participant volume and schedules. Some travel may also be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in biological science, psychology, or nursing, or related field
  • A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis
  • One (1) year of direct patient contact experience, working in human subjects’ research OR working in a health care setting
  • Knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology medical terminology
  • Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work independently and within diverse team structures.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating and scheduling clinic visits and collecting/recording data. This position includes comprehensive direct patient contact including pre-visit, during visit and post visit follow-up on referrals with a high-level of ethics and integrity.
  • Participating in program recruitment initiatives that include communicating with patients who have expressed interest in the program, prescreening activities, screening patients, assisting patients with pre and post visit assessments, and documenting patient enrollment statuses in collaboration with the TeleNeurology UPL Team.
  • Schedule patients by collaborating and communicating with the patients and TeleNeurology UPL providers. This includes considering the Program Director’s schedule, staff schedules, patient schedules, clinic schedules, etc. in order for visit windows and the protocol requirements to be followed.
  • Working, communicating, and collaborating with various colleagues (e.g., Program Director, other clinicians, medical staff, sponsors, neurology staff, finance and billing professionals, and CU Medicine UPL team) at various stages of the TeleNeurology UPL Program. The PRA/Telehealth Scheduler is responsible for providing excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders by presenting a positive image of the department and University.
  • Managing accurate and timely documentation of all clinical activities and correspondence including data entry of patient information and administration of assessments in internal database. This position will also be responsible for responding to patient inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Participating in Movement Disorders TeleNeurology UPL Program meetings. Collaborating with team members for backup needs, sharing learning experiences, and applying learning opportunities.
