About The Position

Abbott is a global healthcare leader focused on restoring health and improving quality of life through device and management solutions for the treatment of Structural Heart disease. This role is specifically focused on Abbott’s Amplatzer Congenital offering, which includes treatments for atrial septal defects (ASD), patent ductus arteriosus (PDA), and ventricular septal defects (VSD), as well as patent foramen ovale (PFO). The Clinical Specialist will provide essential clinical and sales support by educating current and potential customers and covering procedures within a defined region. This involves training interventional cardiologists, catheter lab staff, and ancillary personnel on the use of Structural Heart products and offering technical support to physicians during procedures. The role also entails communicating product, clinical, and market data to relevant personnel and supporting the development and implementation of product marketing strategies. The position may be hired at different levels depending on candidate experience and involves travel in excess of 50%.

Requirements

  • BS/BA or equivalent experience.
  • 9+ years of related cardiovascular work experience.
  • 3+ years of which is Structural Heart or Electrophysiology specific clinical experience.
  • Verification that you will satisfy all vendor credentialing requirements, which may include vaccination for COVID-19.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in life sciences or medical training (RN, EMT, Perfusion, etc.).
  • Strong clinical orientation.
  • Experience with products for use in interventional cardiology and cardiac surgery.
  • Familiarity with echo cardiology and other indirect imaging.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Territory Managers to ensure good case coverage and positive clinical outcomes for patients.
  • Serve as the primary resource for clinical support, including surgical coverage, troubleshooting, and in-service education for company products.
  • Educate customers on the merits and proper clinical usage of company products.
  • Inform customers about the latest product, therapy, and technology developments in the industry.
  • Actively engage in clinical, procedural, and technical discussions, linking data outcomes to key messaging.
  • Meet with existing and potential clients (healthcare providers) to identify their clinical needs, goals, and constraints related to patient care, and provide creative and feasible solutions.
  • Provide technical support to physicians during procedures.
  • Communicate product, clinical, and market data to appropriate personnel.
  • Support the company’s efforts to develop and implement product marketing strategies.
