About The Position

Abbott is a global healthcare leader focused on restoring health and improving quality of life through device and management solutions for Structural Heart disease. This role specifically supports Abbott’s Stroke Prevention offering, including Amplatzer, Amulet, and LAA Occluder products. The Clinical Specialist will provide essential clinical and sales support by educating current and potential customers, covering procedures within a defined region, and training interventional cardiologists, catheter lab staff, and ancillary personnel on the use of Structural Heart products. The role also involves providing technical support to physicians during procedures, communicating product and market data, and supporting marketing strategies. This position may be hired at different levels depending on candidate experience and involves significant travel.

Requirements

  • BS/BA or equivalent experience.
  • 9+ years of related cardiovascular work experience.
  • 3+ years of which is Structural Heart or Electrophysiology specific clinical experience.
  • Verification that you will satisfy all vendor credentialing requirements, which may include vaccination for COVID-19.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in life sciences or medical training (RN, EMT, Perfusion, etc.).
  • Strong clinical orientation.
  • Experience with products for use in interventional cardiology and cardiac surgery.
  • Familiarity with echo cardiology and other indirect imaging.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Territory Managers to provide good case coverage and clinical outcomes for patients.
  • Serve as the primary resource for clinical support in surgical coverage, troubleshooting, and in-service education for company products.
  • Educate customers on the merits and proper clinical usage of company products.
  • Inform customers of the latest product, therapy, and technology developments in the industry.
  • Actively engage in clinical, procedural, and technical discussions, linking data outcomes to key messaging.
  • Meet with existing and potential clients (health care providers) to identify their clinical needs, goals, and constraints related to patient care and provide creative and feasible solutions.
