About The Position

The da Vinci Clinical Sales Representative is responsible for maximizing the utilization of installed da Vinci® Surgical Systems. This role involves working with the Clinical Sales Manager to develop a sales plan for the local market, becoming a clinical expert across primary OR procedures to be a partner in surgical team development, and working with senior hospital staff and key surgeons to integrate the da Vinci® system at new customer sites. The representative will develop a da Vinci® Surgery plan for each surgical team to ensure independent system usage within a reasonable timeframe, drive utilization by partnering with surgical teams to select appropriate cases, and work on continuous expansion of the user base by developing a qualified lead funnel. This includes formal presentations, informal events, and converting leads while driving training activities. The role also involves sales of instruments and accessories through new product introductions and solution selling, managing administrative tasks like reporting sales/procedures and submitting expense reports, and acting as a Medical Device Consultant in Austria and Germany after appropriate training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of sales experience including 2 or more years in healthcare sales.
  • Strong experience in sales, preferably with a surgical device company.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, dependent upon account distribution.
  • Fluent in English and local language as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in introducing new technologies to the market is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the Operating Room environment preferred.
  • A clinical foundation to grow from is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the da Vinci Clinical Sales Manager to develop a sales plan for the local market.
  • Become a clinical expert across all primary OR procedures to position yourself as a partner in the development of surgical teams.
  • Work, with the support of da Vinci Clinical Sales Manager, with senior hospital staff and key surgeons in the development and execution of a plan to effectively integrate the da Vinci® at new customer sites, ensuring ongoing commitment to the system.
  • Develop a da Vinci® Surgery plan for each surgical team to ensure they are capable of using the system independently within a reasonable time frame.
  • Drive utilization of the da Vinci® by partnering with surgical teams to review and select appropriate cases and ensure consistent usage of the da Vinci®.
  • Work on continuous expansion of the user base by working together with the CSM, with key hospital staff and thought leaders to develop a qualified lead funnel.
  • Regular activities would consist of formal presentations, informal events, and get-togethers.
  • Effectively convert high potential leads and drive training activities.
  • Work on sales of instruments and accessories through new product introductions and solution selling.
  • Responsibly manage administrative tasks: reporting of sales/procedures, outcomes of sales activities, submission of expense reports.
  • Act as a Medical Device Consultant (Medizinprodukteberater) in Austria and Germany, after appropriate training, as per legal requirement and provide guidance, insight, and support in the proper handling of Intuitive medical devices.
