This position is primarily responsible for the delivery of coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients within an assigned unit and for the day-to-day management and supervision of the related clinical activities. The role involves coordinating the plan of care with the client, their family, and the interdisciplinary team. Additionally, the Registered Nurse is responsible for supervising and directing the activities of various levels of assigned nursing and ancillary personnel, utilizing professional discretion, independent judgment, and supervisory skills. The nurse must understand and adhere to the California Nurse Practice Act, the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses, the ANA Bill of Rights for Registered Nurses, and the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice for Nursing. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for the observation and direction of patient lifts and mobilization and will participate as needed in patient handling. Fluency in speaking and reading English is required to perform the essential functions of the position. Proficiency in standard office equipment and personal computer software, including MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, internet, and e-mail, is necessary. Specific Windows computer skills, including proficient keyboarding and mouse usage for various functions, are required upon employment or within the first two weeks. The role also includes performing other assigned duties and adhering to Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws, and standards, while upholding the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.
