About The Position

The Clinical Review Pharmacist shall assist the Supervising Pharmacist, Prior Authorizations in formulary management including, but not limited to: overseeing the prior authorization process, utilization review reporting, pharmacy and therapeutics committee activities, communication with physicians and pharmacists, administration of appeals and grievances, and communication with staff on departmental policies and procedures. On call duties are a requirement of the job.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Licensed to practice pharmacy in the state of New York required
• Five (5) years of pharmacy experience required
• PC and windows skills required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience communicating with other health care professionals
• Strong clinical knowledge base kept current through educational endeavors and professional affiliations
• Strong comprehension of pharmaceutical managed care issues
• Proven examples of displaying the PBD values: Trusted Advisor, Innovative, Excellence, Guardianship, Dedication and Caring
• Knowledge of all aspects of the prior authorization, appeals and grievance processes
• Knowledge of clinical protocols, policies and procedures required to administer the pharmacy benefit with consistency and expediency
• Prepare communication as required
