About The Position

As a Clinical Resource Registered Nurse (RN), you plan, organize, coordinate, evaluate and provide guidance in implementing each patient’s plan of care.

Requirements

  • Current New York State Registered Nursing license
  • For Operating Room and Ambulatory Surgery Center -CNOR or CAPA or CPAN certified or attainment within two years of hire into position is required.
  • For Inpatient Psychiatry – Board Certified Registered Nurse (Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing) or attainment within one year of hire into position is required.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)

Nice To Haves

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the plan of care in conjunction with patient, family and others, utilizing community resources and systems.
  • Collaborate with health team members to ensure a comprehensive plan of care.
  • Use health promotion and health teaching methods appropriate to the patient’s developmental level, learning needs, readiness, ability to learn, language preference and culture.
  • Consider associated risks, benefits, costs, current scientific evidence and clinical expertise when formulating expected outcomes.
  • Modify expected outcomes with changes in the status of the patient or the situation.
  • Synthesize available data, information and knowledge to identify patterns and variances.
  • Teach basic physical assessment skills appropriate for the patient’s chronological and developmental age.
  • Guide others in recognizing and assessing the individual cultural needs of the patient/family/significant other and in developing a comprehensive plan of care.
