This role provides direct supervision to clinical front-office clerical or clinical support staff in patient care and related duties. The supervisor will assign or reassign work duties as the daily work flow requires in coordination with the division's operations. This position will update division patient care policies and procedures in collaboration with Division leadership, assist in Quality Assurance reviews, and coordinate routine instrument maintenance. The supervisor will also address patient/family concerns and questions. Additionally, the role involves designing, participating in, and collaborating on departmental and interdepartmental grant and research projects. The supervisor will conduct ongoing evaluation and mentoring of direct reports, including effective, clear, and timely annual performance evaluations, and ensure staff is properly trained to perform job functions. They will determine and monitor the implementation of continuing education goals of the department and provide educational opportunities for department staff, ensuring departmental and Medical Center initiatives, priorities, standards, and policies are effectively communicated and understood by direct and indirect reports. The role also requires maintaining compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, such as JCAHO, HIPAA, and/or other accreditation standards, and designing and/or implementing programs, policies, and/or procedures to ensure compliance. The supervisor will track laws and regulations that might affect policies and procedures and may prepare compliance reports and communicate results as necessary. Finally, this position supports the development and implementation of research systems and processes to improve productivity and efficiency and to facilitate sustained growth in collaboration with Principal Investigators, organizes and conducts annual research needs assessments, and participates in the planning, design, measurement, assessment, and improvement of the division's services. The supervisor will work with faculty and business director/managers to provide leadership for new project development efforts, including the development of scope of work, budget, and management of contract negotiations and execution. This role has 5+ direct/indirect reports.
