About The Position

This position will work in various clinical environments and may obligate you to meet specific health and safety requirements, including but not limited to screenings, providing proof of vaccination, and/or testing. The role involves conducting research assessments on study participants, assisting with and adhering to Institutional Review Board (IRB) renewal, modification, and approved protocols, and assisting with training staff. The specialist will ensure adherence to protocols and correct issues with data collection. Study recruitment and data collection sites include Shadyside, Mercy, McKeesport, and Monroeville Hillman Cancer Center clinic sites. The University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing, a top institution in National Institute of Health funding, is seeking this full-time Research Coordinator to be responsible for the conduct of a newly funded, large NIH-funded cancer research project for patients with hematologic malignancies.

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to serve as a liaison at study sites and work directly with patients with cancer
  • Dependability and flexibility with time to accommodate participant clinical schedules
  • Comfort with technology
  • TB Test is required
  • Transportation during the work day will require use of study-provided public transportation between research sites

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in nursing or psychology or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
  • Experience with electronic medical records, REDCap, and SPSS
