About The Position

Castle Biosciences is growing and looking to hire a Clinical Research Scientist to work from their laboratory in Phoenix, AZ. This role is responsible for leading assay development, validation, and implementation within a high-complexity clinical laboratory environment. Expertise in molecular techniques, QA, SOP development, instrument verification, and CLIA/CAP compliance is required. The scientist will drive data analysis, workflow optimization, and troubleshooting while partnering cross-functionally to support clinical research and lab operations. Key responsibilities include leading assay development, validation, and implementation, overseeing sample analysis, QA, regulatory compliance (CLIA/CAP), and supporting lab operations through SOPs, instrument verification, and technical leadership.

Requirements

Bachelors in Life Science, Biology, or Clinical Laboratory Science and 4-7 years research/development experience OR Master's and 3-5 years experience OR PhD and 1-2 years experience.
Demonstrated technical proficiency, scientific creativity, successful collaboration with others, and independent thought.
Minimum 4 years laboratory experience in High Complexity testing plus QA training or 2 years clinical QA experience.
Experience with one or more of the following: Molecular techniques, digital imaging, multiplex immunolabeling, digital pathology, image analysis or processing, bioinformatics/computational biology.
Legally authorized to work in the United States.
