About The Position

The Clinical Research Pharmacy Technician works on assigned Alzheimer’s clinical research trials and will primarily be responsible for handling and managing investigational products. The main focus of this role is to ensure the effective processing, storage and documentation of the investigational products, safeguarding compliance with relevant regulatory guidelines.

Requirements

  • Postsecondary diploma in health, science, nursing, pharmacy, chemistry OR a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other software tools.
  • Bilingual: French and English required

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of clinical research regulations and guidelines is desirable.
  • Experience in clinical trials and/or healthcare is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Have a thorough knowledge and understanding of research protocols and all relevant protocol-related material.
  • Complete and track all required training and certification programs.
  • Receive, log and document investigational products according to established protocols.
  • Collect, organize, and maintain participant data in accordance with regulatory requirements and study protocols.
  • Ensure the proper identification, labeling, and storage of investigational products, adhering to relevant safety and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with the rest of the team to ensure the availability of investigational products for ongoing clinical trials.
  • Prepare the investigational product for study protocols, including reconstitution and dilution as required.
  • Coordinate the IP preparation with external pharmacy when it cannot be prepared on-site as per applicable regulation.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to investigational product handling and escalate to appropriate personnel when necessary.
  • Ensure optimal communication and collaboration with the clinical team, sponsor, CRO, monitors and auditor with any IP related inquiries.
  • Stay updated on relevant regulation, guidelines, and developments in the field of clinical research.
  • Follow strict protocols and maintain confidentiality regarding investigational products, ensuring data and participant integrity and security.
  • Organize routine maintenance and calibration of pharmacy instruments as per our SOP and applicable regulation.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
