About The Position

Verana Health is a digital health company focused on delivering quality drug lifecycle and medical practice insights through an exclusive real-world data network. The company recently secured significant funding and is driven by a mission to create quality real-world data in ophthalmology, neurology, urology, and oncology to accelerate insights and improve patient care. This role is based in San Francisco, Knoxville, TN, or New York City, with remote work options available in specific states. A hybrid work model is in place for Bay Area, NYC, and Knoxville locations, requiring 3 days per week in the office. Requirements

  • Master’s degree or greater in public health, statistics, data science, computer science or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of relevant research and/or work experience in the field of oncology.
  • Experience owning and developing research protocol documents, abstracts and manuscripts to support life science and/or academic use cases.
  • Solid foundational knowledge of epidemiology and basic statistics.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must possess the ability to prioritize assignments to meet required deadlines.
  • Must be able to function effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced, diverse environment including collaborating with a variety of internal/external stakeholders.
  • Must be a self-starter who can work autonomously.
  • Must be approachable, friendly, and effective as a team member.
  • Permanent residency in AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, LA, MA, MN, NC, NJ, NV, NY, OH, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, WA, D.C.

  • Experience working with electronic health record (EHR) data and/or other real-world data preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage research projects and partnerships, including scientific guidance and execution of research deliverables.
  • Lead research projects from pre-sale alignment through study execution in partnership with the Clinical Research Director and Data Scientists.
  • Partner cross-functionally to support the evolution of commercial research opportunities into active studies.
  • Collaborate with Research and Medical team members on internal projects to expand and/or validate research offerings.
  • Develop research protocols, abstracts, posters, and/or manuscripts as needed by a project.
  • Partner with the Commercial Team to expand research projects and partnerships.
  • Represent research capabilities to internal and external parties.
  • Suggest, implement, and manage priorities for improvements to the research process based on research of the evolving space, business needs, and client feedback.
  • Examine analytical results for robustness, validity, and out-of-sample stability and present findings to various stakeholders.
  • Support research deliverable execution in a subset of research projects.
  • Review and provide feedback on project collateral (e.g., protocols, abstracts, etc.).
  • Contribute to internal and external meetings related to research.
  • Draft project collateral for studies for which you will be responsible.
  • Lead the development of project collateral, research protocols, abstracts, posters, and manuscripts.
  • Effectively partner with Research Data Scientists to execute on active research projects.
  • Run internal and external meetings related to research.
  • Support the Commercial team in sales engagements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to address data, quality, and research questions/needs.
