The Clinical Research Finance Analyst is responsible for the financial management and oversight of a complex portfolio of oncology clinical trials within the CFCCC Stern Center for Cancer Clinical Trials and Research (Stern Center), an NCI-Designated Cancer Center. This role partners closely with principal investigators, clinical trial management teams, and institutional finance offices to ensure compliant post-award administration, accurate financial reporting, and effective stewardship of sponsored research funds. The analyst monitors budgets, expenditures, invoicing, and financial performance across industry-sponsored clinical trials while ensuring adherence to sponsor regulations, institutional policies, and applicable federal guidelines. The position provides strategic financial analysis, forecasting, and problem-solving to support the successful execution of cancer clinical research and optimize the financial health of the research portfolio. The primary responsibility is interfacing directly with business partners in the pharmaceutical, medical device and clinical research organization (CRO) partners to administer the accounts receivable and payable for a clinical trial portfolio of ~40-60 accounts with a specific disease team. Uses professional concepts. Applies organizational policies and procedures to resolve various issues. Works on problems of limited to moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of multiple factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Contacts are primarily internal to the department, but may also be external.
