About The Position

The goal of this research program is to utilize Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) for a variety of indications. The role involves being trained as a TMS Technician and collaborating with multiple faculty and staff from Psychiatry and Neurology. The Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences, founded in 1943, is one of 26 departments in the Duke University School of Medicine (SOM). The department is comprised of more than 500 faculty, staff, and trainees. Our goal is to help people with behavioral health challenges live their best life. Requirements

  • Completion of an Associate’s degree.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant research experience. Completion of the DOCR North Carolina state approved Clinical Research Apprenticeship program may substitute for one year of required experience.

Responsibilities

  • Study start up and close out for ongoing grant applications funded for the lab
  • Conducting clinical assessments with patients and non-clinical controls
  • Coding psychotherapy sessions for adherence under supervision
  • Learning to administer neuromodulation and transauricular vagal stimulation and administering them as needed for research studies
  • Running experimental visits involving EEG, neuroimaging, and psychophysiological data collection
  • Learning how to clean and extract psychophysiological data using acknowledge software and Biopac hardware
  • Supporting the RPL with regulatory tasks and data uploads to relevant funding agencies
  • Recruiting participants and screening them for various studies
