The Jacobs Lab, part of the Athinoula A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging at MGH, is focused on improving the early detection and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. They are conducting a project to determine the role of brainstem nuclei (raphe nucleus, locus coeruleus) in risk for Alzheimer’s disease. This position involves neuropsychological testing, biofluid collection, 3T MRI, 7T MRI, and PET-imaging of cognitively normal older adults (aged 50-85). The candidate will report to the Principal Investigator. The lab has the flexibility to hire a CRC I or II depending on a candidate's experience and skillset. Following established policies, procedures, and study protocols, the role provides assistance on clinical research studies, including recruiting, evaluating, and consenting patients for studies; collecting and organizing patient data; scheduling patients for study visits; performing clinical tests such as phlebotomy, EKGs, etc.; and maintaining and updating data generated by the study. Candidates who are in the process of completing their bachelor's degree have a six-month grace period from their hire date (up to one year if starting on a per diem basis) to provide degree equivalency verification.
