About The Position

The Pediatric Population Health in Action Program in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital is focused on trauma-informed population mental health interventions for children and families, and associated research projects. The Pediatric Population Health in Action Program is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to assist our team’s ongoing research studies, clinical efforts, and administrative needs. Clinical programs include the (1) The Integrated Primary Care (IPC) program for children and youth (infants - age 21), which integrates psychology and social work clinicians in primary care clinics to screen, triage, and provide brief interventions for a range of mental health needs for patients, and (2) trauma-informed psychotherapy interventions that aim to address children’s emerging emotional and behavioral difficulties. The program’s research includes studies of biobehavioral mechanisms underlying childhood adversity outcomes and examining family-centered psychotherapy interventions to address adversity-associated developmental, mental, and physical health problems for children and youth. This is a hybrid (in-person days required), full-time (40 hours/week) position that requires working with multidisciplinary psychology, psychiatry, social work, and primary care teams. Our ideal candidate has a strong interest and relevant background in mental health interventions and clinical research serving children and families. They will have strong interpersonal, organizational, and team-oriented skills, and will be able to work in a respectful and professional manner with team members, collaborators, and study participants from a range of backgrounds. Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in related field (i.e., psychology, child development, maternal health, public health, neuroscience, etc.)
Background in psychology, child development, maternal health, public health, neuroscience, or related discipline.
New graduates with some relevant course/project work or those without any prior research experience will be considered for the Clinical Research Coordinator I position.
Careful attention to detail required.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High level time management skills requiring exceptional organizational skills and the ability to spend working time efficiently and prioritize effectively.
Ability to ask for direction when appropriate and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks and deadline pressures.

Ability and willingness to learn new research and administrative skills.
Knowledge and experience with human subjects research and IRB requirements.
Proficiency with Microsoft-based software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Proficiency with reference management software such as Reference Manager, Zotero, or EndNote.
Knowledge of current and developing trends in areas of professional expertise.

Nice To Haves

At least one prior clinical human subjects research experience interacting with the medical system particularly with children or adolescent patients, recruiting, screening, and leading participants through study visits.
Experience with REDCap
Experience with IRB requirements and regulatory documentation
Experience working with diverse groups of individuals

Responsibilities

Assist with ongoing research studies, clinical efforts, and administrative needs.
Work with multidisciplinary psychology, psychiatry, social work, and primary care teams.
Interact professionally at all levels and plan and initiate new activities.
Compile and manage data, analyze information, and produce reports.
Meet the regulatory compliance required by IRB reporting.
Conduct reference and literature searches using PubMed and other search engines, and perform internet searches using MS Internet Explorer and various search engines.
Attend and travel to meetings or conferences outside of regularly scheduled hours.
Report to the hospital outside of regular business hours to assist with events that require emergency management (e.g., delivering saliva samples in a time-sensitive manner for lab storage).
