About The Position

The Clinical Research Coordinator A/B is responsible for oversight, execution, and regulatory compliance of human subject research carried out in the Epilepsy Division of the Neurology Department. Our clinical research projects explore investigational treatments and diagnostic tools relating to the care of patients with Epilepsy.

  • Bachelor's Degree with 1-2 years of related experience in research and clinical study methodologies or equivalent combination of education and experience (CRC A).
  • Bachelor's Degree with 2-3 years of clinical research or similar experience or equivalent combination of education and experience (CRC B).
  • Prior experience working with IRB submissions.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit and screen patients as outlined in research protocols.
  • Coordinate all research visit activities for assigned projects (including processing and shipping blood and urine samples, performing ECGs, entering data, responding to queries, etc.).
  • Assist in the maintenance of research records in compliance with IRB and HIPAA regulations.
  • Interact with internal and external clinicians to facilitate the recruitment of appropriate new patients for research projects.
  • Manage study regulatory binders, updating documents and trackers.
  • Assist with IRB submissions.
  • Assist in the training of new personnel in the division.
  • Report (internally and externally) updates on the progress of individual research projects.
  • Submit continuing reviews, modifications, deviations, and adverse events to the IRB (CRC B only).
  • Create source documentation and phone scripts (CRC B only).
  • Assist with study invoicing (CRC B only).
  • Lead trainings and provide guidance/direction to junior staff, especially student research assistants (CRC B only).
  • Coordinate supply management (CRC B only).
  • Ensure experimental drug and device use records (accountability) (CRC B only).
  • Assist in study startup/closeout procedures (CRC B only).
  • Find creative solutions for various logistical problems to protocol implementation and recruitment (CRC B only).
  • Review new protocols with the project manager for feasibility (CRC B only).
  • Use more independent judgment and problem solving related to study visits and activities (CRC B only).
