The National Center for School Mental Health (NCSMH), housed within the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the School of Medicine at the University of Maryland-Baltimore (UMB), seeks to hire one full-time Clinical Research Assistant to assist with new and ongoing faculty research and implementation projects. The Clinical Research Assistant will assist with the performance of 2-3 federal- and state-funded NCSMH projects. The first project focuses on developing workforce and caregiver capacity to deliver evidence-based interventions (prevention, early intervention, and treatment) to address adolescent substance abuse across the State of Maryland. The second project provides family education programming, educator training, and universal mental health interventions to youth and families during and after school hours. The Clinical Research Assistant may also assist with the multi-state implementation of the School Health Assessment and Performance Evaluation (SHAPE) system, a web-based platform designed to support school mental health quality improvement. Across assigned projects, the Clinical Research Assistant will support a range of activities related to project management, implementation, evaluation, and reporting activities. Responsibilities include collecting and analyzing project data, conducting literature reviews, coordinating with local, state, and national partners, and supporting meeting logistics and material development. This is a full-time, contractual position. Operated by seven child-clinical and school psychologist faculty members and dozens of passionate interdisciplinary staff, the NCSMH works to strengthen policies and programs in school mental health to improve learning and promote success for America's youth.
