About The Position

PNS Clinical Research is a full-service Site Management Organization (SMO) that provides administrative and operational support to help facilitate Phase II-IV clinical trials. We are currently looking for a full-time Clinical Research Assistant with phlebotomy certification to work at our office located in Orange. This is an entry-level position that would be suitable for a phlebotomist who is looking to enter the field of clinical research. Under policy direction from the Practice Manager and Lead Coordinator, and with the support of the COO, the Clinical Research Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting clinical research activities, ensuring adherence to protocols, and contributing to the advancement of medical knowledge.

Requirements

California State Phlebotomy Certificate or license required.
IATA certification required.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s Degree highly preferred.
At least 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist preferred.
Interpersonal skills to work with patients, their families/caregivers, physicians, administrators, work colleagues, representatives from sponsors, etc.

Responsibilities

Draw blood, obtain vital signs, and conduct EKGs on study subjects of all ages
Process, centrifuge, store, and ship lab specimens for analysis
Perform outbound calls to patients for scheduling, follow-up, and outreach
Answer inbound calls from patients
Schedule patient screening examinations, treatments, and laboratory visits required by the protocol
Screen potential patients for protocol eligibility
Assist with data entry and document management across internal and external systems
Track patient data for a variety of ongoing studies
Perform clerical duties that may include cleaning and sterilizing equipment; answering telephones; tracking inventory, shipping samples, and stocking supplies
Maintain a clean, sterile, organized, and safe work environment
