About The Position

Sentara Heart Hospital, located on the campus of Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, is seeking a Clinical Research Assistant. The Clinical Research Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Clinical Research Coordinators with clinical trials, including screening, enrolling, patient follow-up, and study-related data entry. The role involves ensuring protocol compliance by closely monitoring and documenting study subjects. Additionally, the assistant will help with data and source documentation, adverse event reporting, and maintaining regulatory/study binders. There is potential to participate in writing, presenting, and publishing study results in collaboration with physician investigators and clinical research coordinators. The role may also involve training to perform delegable tasks such as phlebotomy, 12-lead EKGs, and taking patient vitals.

Requirements

  • 2 years of clinical research experience required
  • HS - High School Grad or Equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed Practical Nursing License (Preferred)
  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) (Preferred)
