About The Position

This research position is based within the Department of Supportive Care – Division of Psychosocial Oncology (PSO) at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, a leading academic cancer hospital within the University Health Network (UHN). The ideal candidate will have demonstrated interest and experience in health psychology and vaccine decision-making. Under the supervision of Dr. Shapiro, the Research Assistant will support a mixed-method research study examining modifiable drivers of HPV vaccination to inform the prevention of HPV-associated cancers in Canada. Primary responsibilities include supporting the day-to-day operations of study activities including assisting with data collection and management; conducting literature reviews; contributing to manuscript drafting and preparing presentations; completing study-related administrative tasks (e.g. developing standard operating procedures, tracking study progress, and participating in research team meetings). Additional research and administrative duties may be assigned as needed. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented, highly self-motivated individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills. The position requires on-site presence three days per week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a health or social science-related discipline (including epidemiology, psychology, anthropology, health studies) required
  • A minimum, 1 to 2 years clinical and/or professional experience, required
  • Experience conducting quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods studies
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced research environment
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and collaboratively
  • Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with research ethics guidelines and study processes considered an asset
  • Proficiency in French is considered an asset
