This is a full-time, remote position requiring 40 hours per week. The Clinical Referral Specialist I is responsible for reviewing work queues to identify unscheduled ordered services and connecting with patients to schedule them. This role involves scheduling complex specialty appointments, adhering to protocols, and communicating pre and post-appointment instructions to patients. The specialist will accurately link orders to appointments and provide provider referrals based on ordered services and patient preferences. Documentation of all contact attempts and notification to ordering providers for service removal are key responsibilities. The role also includes problem-solving patient concerns, educating patients on referral and authorization requirements, performing registration duties, and maintaining knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer requirements.
