About The Position

As the Quality Specialist, you will implement and maintain a vision and plan for quality clinical outcomes through collaboration with leadership teams and employees. You will watch trends in clinical outcomes and review charts to support quality improvement strategies. By working with Quality Leads, you will establish short- and long-term goals that align with ProMedica’s strategic plan.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in healthcare related field.
  • Quality improvement and overall quality concepts.
  • Knowledge of HRSA regulations and expectations, CMS, VBP, Press Ganey, NDNQI, MBSQIP, NSQIP, Vizient and other federal, state, and local reporting registries and agencies.
  • Strong knowledge of nurse and governmental quality indicators.
  • Ability to understand directions, communicate, and respond to inquiries; requires effective people skills.
  • Ability to perform primary research including ability to input and retrieve information from the Internet and hospital computer systems, work with Microsoft Word, Work, Outlook, and Excel, manuals, government documents, library, and textbooks, and operate telephone and pager.
  • Ability to think in terms of systems and lead systems, to understand the variability of work in planning and problem solving, and to understand and demonstrate quality improvement tools.
  • Ability to deal effectively with a changing environment and be open to innovative ideas.
  • Ability to understand people and why they behave as they do.
  • Excellent human resource relations and oral/written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead teams, manage conflict, build consensus, and negotiate effectively.
  • Working knowledge of medical staff working practices and the ability to analyze and understand statistical data, benchmarking data, and conceptual information.
  • Working knowledge of budgeting, financial forecasting, patient care financing, managed care, capitation, conflict management, interviewing skills, and intervention skills.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in acute hospital nursing and 2 years acute care quality management.
  • Current RN License in Michigan and Ohio.
