The clinical quality specialist serves as a member of the quality team coordinating and support quality activities and projects. This role is crucial for facilitating activities towards board quality goals by developing strategies, improvement plans, and presentations. The specialist will collaborate with leadership, clinical leaders, and staff to plan and support a robust quality and safety program, working in cooperation with other members of the quality team including risk management, infection prevention, regulatory, data analytics, education, and operational effectiveness to achieve improved outcomes. Establishing and maintaining open and positive working relationships with physicians, nurses, and allied leaders and team members is essential. The role involves participating in and/or leading interdisciplinary teams related to quality and patient safety, identifying process and practice opportunities for improvement within the practice environment, and working with the leadership team to develop a culture and practice environment that embraces quality and patient safety and complies with regulatory agency requirements. Additionally, the specialist will work collaboratively with the executive team to implement quality and safety initiatives and assist in developing appropriate policies and procedures related to quality and patient safety. Participation in the planning and implementation of new technologies and procedures that support or enhance quality and patient safety activities is also a key function.
