About The Position

This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the hospital’s Infection Prevention and Control Program (IPCP) in accordance with CMS, CDC, and state regulatory requirements. The position involves ongoing surveillance for healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), infection outbreaks, and communicable diseases. The Clinical Quality & Risk Manager will collect, analyze, and report infection prevention and quality data, conduct infection control audits, and monitor trends related to antimicrobial resistance and antibiotic utilization. Additionally, this role oversees the Employee Health Program, monitors trends in patient safety events, and coordinates clinical education and training for hospital staff.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of practice in good standing
  • Minimum two (2) years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a hospital or behavioral health setting
  • Successful completion of background check
  • Tuberculosis Screening
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening
  • CPR Certification
  • AVADE certification upon hire

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Experience in behavioral health or inpatient psychiatric hospital settings
  • Experience in infection prevention, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, or performance improvement initiatives
  • Knowledge of CMS Conditions of Participation, CDC infection prevention guidelines, and OSHA standards

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, and maintains the hospital’s Infection Prevention and Control Program (IPCP) in accordance with CMS, CDC, and state regulatory requirements.
  • Conducts ongoing surveillance for healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), infection outbreaks, and communicable diseases within the hospital.
  • Collects, analyzes, and reports infection prevention and quality data to hospital leadership, medical staff committees, and the governing body.
  • Conducts infection control audits, including monitoring hand hygiene compliance, PPE usage, environmental sanitation, and isolation precautions.
  • Monitors trends related to antimicrobial resistance and antibiotic utilization and collaborates with antimicrobial stewardship activities.
  • Coordinates and oversees the hospital’s Employee Health Program, ensuring compliance with OSHA, CDC, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitors and analyzes trends related to restraint and seclusion use, patient safety events, and behavioral incidents, collaborating with leadership to implement quality improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinates and provides clinical education and training for hospital staff, including new employee clinical orientation, annual competencies, infection prevention education, patient safety training, and other regulatory-required education programs.
