About The Position

Responsible for maintaining participation and/or coordination, consultation and technical support of data systems, including but not limited to: centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the Joint Commission (TJC), and other various registries based on clinical diagnosis. Although direct patient care is not part of this job role, understanding clinical presentations of disease processes across the age spectrum is necessary. Develops and implements processes to collect, monitor, analyze and report quality improvement and safety information consistent with internal and external needs. Contributes to the development of the health quality plan for Sanford. Coordinates and facilitates work on assigned quality improvement goals related to the overall quality initiative. Facilitates quality improvement activities within assigned department and setting including implementation of improvement strategies. Stimulates problem solving and innovation. Coordinate peer review activities within assigned departments. Analyzes patient records to identify potential variances from desired clinical outcomes. Designs and provides education on quality improvement topics as needed. Provides consultation on quality improvement and accreditation.

Requirements

RN or LPN with previous experience in the hospital setting.
Ability to work independently.
Obtain and maintain an unencumbered professional clinical license with the applicable state board, accrediting body, and/or national registry.
If an RN, hold an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
Obtain and maintain required department specific competencies and certifications.
Minimum of three years clinical background in specialty required.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience extracting data from medical records.
Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program (e.g., CCNE, ACEN, NLN CNEA).
Microsoft Office applications experience.
Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ).
