About The Position

The Student Success division at the University of South Florida (USF) is seeking a Clinical Psychologist to join the Counseling Center, a vital part of student support services. The Counseling Center aims to enhance the mental health and well-being of the 44,000 graduate and undergraduate students at the USF Tampa campus. We provide high-quality clinical services, evidence-based practices, outreach, consultation, and education. Our multidisciplinary team of 30 professionals, including licensed psychologists, counselors, social workers, and therapists, is accredited by IACS and affiliated with APA-accredited training programs. We are committed to a team approach, offering group therapy, interdisciplinary training, embedded clinicians, and consultation opportunities. We are looking for psychologists dedicated to excellence, culturally responsive care, and who will contribute to the diversity and resources of our staff.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of culturally responsive approaches to mental health treatment.
  • Skilled in treating common presenting concerns of college-age students including anxiety, depression, substance misuse, eating disorders, and interpersonal trauma, with evidenced-based interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Directly serve the USF community through the ethical practice of culturally responsive, theoretically grounded, and evidenced-based individual and group therapies.
  • Provide crisis intervention, mental health consultation, and prevention activities.
  • Be involved in providing training and supervision for the Center's training programs.
  • Establish designated liaisons with strategic campus partners consistent with their training and expertise.
  • Serve as coordinators of specific program areas.
  • Conduct program evaluation/research.
  • Participate in the development of Center policy and programs.
  • Represent the Center to the USF community and at local, state, and national professional forums.
  • Respond to the mental health needs of students during and following critical events such as severe weather incidents or campus emergencies.
