About The Position

This role is for a Clinical Psychologist in a skilled nursing facility setting, focusing on providing high-impact, clinically sophisticated, human-centered work to residents who are often overlooked by the mental health system. The position involves serving individuals navigating serious mental illness, cognitive decline, neuropsychiatric conditions, medical complexity, disability, trauma, grief, identity loss, and profound transitions. The psychologist will assess, diagnose, and treat residents, manage an active caseload with support, collaborate with facility staff, complete documentation, and provide care both in-person and via telehealth. The role is part of a multi-disciplinary team aimed at stabilizing care, reducing suffering, and improving quality of life.

Requirements

  • Hold a PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology
  • Licensed in California
  • Medicare-eligible (assistance provided with credentialing and paneling)
  • Value evidence-based practice and clinical flexibility
  • Comfortable working with complexity and ambiguity
  • Desire autonomy without isolation, and support without micromanagement
  • Curiosity, compassion, and the ability to see the person behind the chart

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish, Armenian, and Chinese-speaking desirable
  • Prior SNF or geriatric experience is not required

Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and treat residents in skilled nursing facilities
  • Provide psychological services to geriatric, disabled, and medically complex populations
  • Manage an active caseload with support from your clinical manager and administrative team
  • Collaborate closely with facility staff, offering consultation, guidance, and in-services
  • Complete documentation aligned with medical necessity and Medicare standards
  • Provide care both in-person and via telehealth, depending on resident needs and location
