About The Position

Menard Correctional Center is looking to hire a Clinical Psychologist. The ideal candidate will select and administer therapeutic and research techniques for recipients exhibiting a broad range of disorders. They will develop and implement mental health treatment programs, serve as a lead worker, and be a liaison between psychiatric and psychological services. In addition, they will serve as a consultant for release planning, and staff trainer. We encourage all qualified applicants to apply.

Requirements

  • Requires current license as a Clinical Psychologist by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
  • Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen.
  • Must maintain licensure as a Clinical Psychologist by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation while employed in this position.
  • Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.
  • Applicants are required to abide by all vaccine and/or other medical standards as set out by the employer.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefers at least ten (10) years of experience administering clinical psychology services.
  • Prefers at least three (3) years of experience working with multidisciplinary treatment teams.
  • Prefers at least three (3) years of experience giving, scoring, and interpreting psychological tests.
  • Prefers at least three (3) years of experience developing and implementing mental health treatment plans/programs.
  • Prefers at least two (2) years of experience evaluating mental fitness of individuals.

Responsibilities

  • Selects and administers therapeutic and research techniques for individuals in custody exhibiting a broad range of disorders.
  • Develops and implements mental health treatment programs for individuals in custody experiencing more complex mental health and psychiatric illnesses.
  • Signs the certificate of need of commitment when admitting as required by law.
  • Serves as a designated lead worker.
  • Serves as a liaison of psychiatric and psychological services including liaison between Mental Health Department and other professionals including Medical, Addiction Recovery Services, Clinical Services, and Reentry Services.
  • Serves as a consultant for release planning.
  • Serves as staff trainer.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
