About The Position

The Clinical Practice Supervisor has operational and clinical supervisory responsibility and is overeeing the daily operations of the clinical staff within the department. The Supervisor focuses on daily operations such as personnel supervision, compliance with organizational policies and procedures, facility management, patient scheduling and business-related reporting and functions. The Supervisor acts as a resource for the service line Assistant Vice President, Director of Operations, and/or Operations Manager. The Supervisor collaborates with the service line Clinical Operations Manager or Director of Nursing to ensure clinical quality and standardization. The Supervisor manages operations to provide physician clients with the most efficient and cost-effective clinical operation. The Supervisor identifies training needs for team members and facilitates development opportunities. This includes the evaluation of training, implementation, orientation, and participation of education programs. The Supervisor develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates quality assurance activities, ensuring compliance with standards, laws, regulations, and procedures. The Supervisor recommends new and/or revised policies and procedures to the department. The Supervisor is proficient in word processing, spreadsheet development, and presentation skills. The Supervisor provides department level orientation to new team members to include system software, telephone processes and protocols, office equipment usage, departmental policies and procedures, customer service expectations, job competencies, and coaching plans. The Supervisor maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards. The Supervisor maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures. The Supervisor educates and supervises clinical and non-clinical staff. The Supervisor provides necessary documentation relating to policies and procedures. The Supervisor maintains confidentiality of data and information. The Supervisor functions as a member of the medical office management team. The Supervisor has knowledge of medical practice protocols and standards. The Supervisor is skilled in documentation of patient care including reviewing for accuracy and completeness. Other clinical tasks/duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school required or above.
  • Maintains current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification.
  • Maintains current certification by one of the following agencies: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) by American Medical Technologists (AMT), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) by National Health Career Association (NHA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) by National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
  • Two (2) years of related experience required.
  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet development, and presentation skills required.
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, and supervisory skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Hiring, supervision, work assignments, coaching plans, and disciplinary actions of assigned team members.
  • Acting as a resource for the service line Assistant Vice President, Director of Operations, and/or Operations Manager.
  • Collaborating with the service line Clinical Operations Manager or Director of Nursing to ensure clinical quality and standardization.
  • Managing operations to provide physician clients with the most efficient and cost-effective clinical operation.
  • Scheduling staffing to meet changing workload needs.
  • Identifying training needs for team members and facilitating development opportunities.
  • Developing, implementing, monitors, and evaluates quality assurance activities, ensuring compliance with standards, laws, regulations, and procedures.
  • Recommending new and/or revised policies and procedures to the department.
  • Analyzing medical records and documentation and identify problem areas.
  • Collaborating effectively with physicians and administrative staff.
  • Assisting physician(s) with creation of strategies for efficiency and growth of the practice.
  • Providing management reports to physicians and administration for review, practice planning, practice marketing, and completing practice development.
  • Providing department level orientation to new team members.
  • Maintaining reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Maintaining compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Educating and supervising clinical and non-clinical staff.
