About The Position

Texas Health Physicians Group (THPG) is seeking a qualified Clinical Practice Manager I to join their Family Care team in McKinney, Texas. THPG is a large group of physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants dedicated to providing quality, patient-safe care across the DFW Metroplex. The Clinical Practice Manager I is responsible for managing the daily administrative and technical support sections of a medical clinic, anticipating future changes, and making recommendations to improve customer service. This role may support 4-8 providers and potentially include supervision of satellite locations.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent, and 2 years' additional experience in lieu of Associate's Degree required.
  • Or, Associate's Degree in Business or healthcare related field and 1 year experience required.
  • 1 year Medical practice management or relevant clinic leadership experience with Associate's Degree required.
  • Or, 3 years Medical practice management or relevant clinic leadership experience without Associate's Degree required.
  • CMA - Certified Medical Assistant, or, LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse, or, RN - Registered Nurse required upon hire.
  • Possesses a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism.
  • Demonstrates good understanding of health insurance and medical costs, including coding.
  • Proficient computer and EMR skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Office suite applications such as Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated business and analytic/financial skills.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proven experience in a customer service environment.
  • Strong people management and development skills.
  • Ability to shape communications to the needs of the audience.
  • Knowledgeable of HIPAA, state and federal regulations governing confidentiality, release of information and record retention.
  • Familiar with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) functionality, document imaging, and workflow.

Nice To Haves

  • Management experience in a medical office is highly preferred.
  • Allscripts and EPIC Care Connect EMR experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively leads and develops a team of employees including hiring, training and development, salary recommendations, and initiating processes for employee separation.
  • Responsible for employee performance management and setting individual goals.
  • Manages and/or participates in front office operations to maximize patient satisfaction, patient access, maintenance of medical records, verification of benefits, timely and accurate charge entry, collection of payments, and customer service efforts.
  • Supervises medical, nursing, and clerical staff to ensure adequate coverage for quality patient care.
  • Ensures staff are current in competencies, assessments, licensure, certifications, and other annual training.
  • Monitors staff time and attendance consistent with THR policies.
  • Monitors and provides recommendations for clinic budget, goals, and objectives.
  • Assists clinic operations leadership in developing and implementing performance goals, objectives, and long-term planning.
  • Coordinates scheduling of operations to ensure proper coverage of patient appointments and out-of-office calls.
  • Ensures the work environment complies with regulatory, licensure, compliance, and accreditation requirements by monitoring the work setting to identify deficiencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Serves as the first point of contact for patient and external customer complaints, investigating all complaints relating to practice operations and routing privacy and/or Compliance complaints/issues.
  • Escalates recurring problems as needed and provides necessary summaries to clinic operation leadership for High Reliability.
  • Acts as the liaison between the practice and the Central Billing Office.
  • Serves as a Medical Records Custodian.
  • Reviews authorizations and 3rd party chart review requests for validity.
  • Ensures required Protected Health Information disclosures are tracked.
  • Reports all confirmed or suspected privacy breaches and patient complaints regarding privacy to the Entity Safety Officer or Compliance in a timely manner.
  • Enforces and monitors corrective action plans.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
